About Us

Begin-motorcycling has been helping new and beginner riders get out on two wheels since 2001.

The motorcycle industry can seem confusing and intimidating to new riders (we’ve been there!) that’s why this site was born.

From getting your first provisional licence, to finding a training school and all the way to a full motorbike licence we’ve got you covered.

Safety is our number one concern and we maintain the Uk’s most accurate and up to date directory of Motorcycle Training Schools.

All our listed schools are DVSA approved and accredited.

Our Writers and Contributors

We are grateful for the contributions of many highly skilled DVSA approved instructors who provided their expertise, particularly in the licencing and CBT sections of the site.

Special mentions to Survival Skills Rider Training and Dexterity Motorcycle Training for their help.

Donal Keating

Donal has a penchant for low displacement bobbers, cafe racers and street bikes.

He has never driven a car. Two wheels good – four wheels bad!

Collecting vinyl records, surfing and building surfboards keep him busy when not writing for the motorcycle and fitness industries.

Emily Rabone

Emily is passionate about all things two wheels and sometimes three.

If she isn’t riding or planning out a build, she spends her days writing about them.

When not doing any of the above she can be found with a guitar in hand or working on commission based illustration work of motorcycles with the occasional boat or landscape thrown in for good measure.
